Gili Air is the smallest of the three Gili islands and the closest to the mainland. In contrast to the more famous party land Gili Trawangan, Gili Air is very laid back scene that can in the peak seasons still produce a lively nightlife in the bars. Gili Air is a tiny tropical island of just 2km across the longest stretch and surrounded by some of the worlds most diverse marine life deeming itself a PADI five star standard dive location which attracts attention from divers and also creates excellent snorkeling. The views of both Lombok and Bali are incredible from this here with magnificent sunrises and sunsets over Lombok and Bali respectively. With no real roads, cars or dogs in the streets the Gilis are very tranquil with a traditional paradisiacal feel. Traveling here is best done by horse-drawn carts, boats and walking, nothings ever far away and the result is immensely refreshing.

Gili Air Hotel is actually located on the sea and is a separate truly magnificent atoll to the Gili Air Island above coral with easy access to the island. There are four room types here that include:

Standard room that comfortably accommodates two adults and one child within quiet traditionally styled Indonesian rooms with open ceilings and personal bathrooms. These are available with sea or pool views and have traditionally worked natural timbers and fabrics incorporated into the rooms.

The Superior rooms of the same capacity are air conditioned also with private bathrooms and are of a more sophisticated décor. The larger room sizes also produce a more comfortable tranquil feel again with a choice of sea or garden views.

Suite rooms are built with bricks and are air conditioned with partial sea views, they are large and grand with palace like furnishings.

The luxury options is also brick built rather than traditional Indonesian thatch but maintains the traditional Indonesian style within a modern complex of facilities and comforts.

Gili Air Hotel offers an amazing range of cuisine able to satisfy any mood or taste. Dishes such as Indonesian delicacies and international dishes including Italian specialties and supreme fresh seafood barbeques as well as heavenly pizzas. 

Activities include the breathtaking dive and snorkeling explorations and courses for those who desire as well as a board selection of water sports. The pace of the island is very slow, it seems that the most popular activity here is lazing around on the beach drinking cocktails, eating fine foods and going for the odd dip in the sea. There is a long right hand wave in the south of the island for surfers here that can be very good but does require a fair southerly swell to work properly and is therefore inconsistent. 

Gili Air Hotel is a perfect place for relaxing break where tranquility and tropical island paradise is the theme but access to the mainland and then to Bali is extremely easy and fast. Ideal seclusion and easy island hopping adventures.
